SJC Custom Drums is a small custom drum company owned by two
brothers out of Dudley, Massachusetts. Established in 2000,
SJC Custom Drums prides itself on the craftsmanship and
innovation of their product, and their loyalty to their
customers. Offering virtually unlimited options, each kit is

Shells: |
- 6
ply maple toms and 8 ply maple bass shells, and 10ply
maple snare shells are our standard shell configurations

Upgrades in plies can be made to any configuration of 5,
6, 8, or 10 plies

Upgrades in shell type can be made to: VSS Maple
(Vibrating Sound Source, More internal shell vibrations
= more head response = more resonance), Birch, Mahogany,
Stave, Segmented, Brass, Hybrid, Chamber, 1/4" and 1/2"
thick acrylic

in black chrome finish or hand-hammered brass finish

Snares: |
We offer
snares in many different plies and in many different
materials. You have the option of having vents of any size,
shape and configuration cut into the shell. Snare drums
include a set of high-quality snare wires. Puresound snare
wires can be upgraded to your snare at an additional price.
Precision, hand-cut snare beds are cut on all snares.
Snares include the Trick
G-S007 aluminum strainer. Although, you have the option of
choosing a Nickel-Works, or any other type strainer. |

Bearing edges: |
The standard
bearing edge on an SJC Custom Drum is a double 45 degree
edge. Although, any type of bearing edge can be cut,
including: Single 45, Inverted Single 45, and a Round-over
cut.
A round-over cut is made to the outside of bass drum hoops
for a smooth finish. On the inside half of the bass drum
hoop a slight 45 degree cut is made so that the hoop fits
the drum head more snuggly. This will avoid those annoying
gaps you get when some drum heads don't fit a bass hoop
perfectly.

Reinforcement rings: |
Reinforcement rings can be
added to any wood shell. Our standard re-ring is 6ply,
though the ring can be customized in any way. Reinforcement
rings add extra stability to the drums while raising the
fundamental pitch of the drum and giving it quicker attack.

Lugs: |
With over 20 lugs, you
will be able to choose which lug will work best on your
custom drum. Options include tube lugs in many different
sizes, vintage, rounded, stars, spikes, teardrop, and many
more

You have the option
of getting your lugs in line, 50% offset, or 7/8 offset.

Finishes: |
There are virtually
unlimited options when it comes to finishes. Solid laminates
in flat or gloss, sparkles, glitters, diamonds, pearls,
satin flames, animal prints, stripes, inlays, hand rubbed
satin stains, hi gloss lacquer, sparkle lacquers, fades,
custom graphics and paint jobs, and more!

Hoops: |
Toms and snare drums come
standard with 2.3mm triple-flanged super hoops. Single
flange, stick saver, and die-cast hoops are also available.
14" snare drums are now available with aluminum hoops
Wood hoops are available in many different options,
including: Claw style, Revolutionary, Yamaha style, and
"Butcher" hoops. All wood hoops can be stained, painted, or
wrapped in a veneer or laminate

 Butcher
hoops – Designed by the Butcher of The Academy Is...,
these are a thick wood hoop with an awning that goes down
about 3" to completely hide the lugs underneath.
Twine can be added underneath the hoop to add that extra
vintage look and feel. |
 Yamaha
style wood hoops – Beefy, durable, and eye-catching,
these hoops increase attack and resonance and any drum.
*Recommended for use with many rim shots and higher tuned
snare drums

 Rounded
claw style – These hoops are suited best on toms or
medium to loosley tuned snare drums. With a rounded edge and
a small awning to hide the collar of the drum head, these
hoops greatly increase the resonance on toms.
*Not meant for hard hitters or use on snare drums that
will be played with a lot of rim shots |
 Revolutionary
hoops
– Using the same concept as the claw style wood hoop, this
is a similar hoop that leaves the collar of the drum head
exposed, giving any drum a very vintage look and feel.

will be played with a lot of rim shots

 Aluminum
hoops for snare drums – Solid machined aluminum hoops
available for 14" snare drums. These hoops are much
lighter and have a machined look to them.

 2.3mm
hoops – Standard hoops for toms & snare drums
|
 Diecast
hoops – Diecast hoops are available on toms & snare
drums. These hoops are heavier and have no flange, giving
the drum more attack and cutting down on any overtones
produced.
|
 Single
flange hoops – Available on toms & snare drums. These
hoops are a single flange hoop held on by metal hooks. They
don't weigh the drum down at all, giving it an open, fat,
vintage tone and look.
|
|
Heads: |
The heads that go on your
drum are your choice! We carry Remo, Evans and Aquarian
heads. Although if you prefer another brand we will get them
for you. Any type of Remo, Evans or Aquarian head are
available.
The resonant head on the kick drum can be anything you want,
though an Ebony, Smooth white PS3, or Fiberskyn are the most
popular choices.
Holz are available in 4” and 6”. They are available in
chrome, black, brass, and white and can be put in your bass
head in any configuration you come up with.

Mounts: |
Rack and floor toms can be
suspended from a standard or Gauger hanging mount. Rack toms
can come with no mount to be mounted on a snare stand.
Floor toms can either be suspended from a hanging mount,
cradled with a standard cradle or Gauger Dynamount, or have
the brackets drilled directly into the shell.
*Gauger mounts
Gauger mounts are an upgrade to the standard
mounting system. These mounts look very sleek and come
in a brushed platinum finish.
Brackets:
DW Brand, Tama/DW style, or Pearl style brackets can be
used on any hanging mount or drilled directly into the shell

Powder coating: |
SJC Drums is proud to say
that we do in-house powder coating. With virtually endless
color options, the customer can choose what color they'd
like all the metal components on their drums to be.
Weathered hardware is also available

Badges: |
All our drums come
standard with an aluminum etched badge with the SJC Custom
Drums logo.
Color available: Silver, Black, Brass, Green, Red, Blue,
Orange, Yellow, Maroon, Purple, Teal
Custom badges with your bands name or logo are
available on your drums at an additional cost.
Wood badges are also
available to add a very vintage look to your drum.
