Mike co-founded SJC Custom Drums with his brother Scott in the year 2000 out of their Grandmother's basement in a small town of Massachusetts when he was 15 years old. Before Myspace even existed, Mike was networking at local shows, sending snail mail to drummers around the country, and putting on punk rock shows at local VFW Halls. He played drums in the band No Trigger (Nitro Records), and used that as a way to meet new drummers. Him and his brother snuck into the Vans Warped Tour to display their hand crafted drums, and ended up creating lifelong relationships still utilized to this day.
Having toured the world with other bands like Polar Bear Club, and drum-teching for Rancid, New Found Glory, Jimmy Eat World, Sum 41, Mike was able to network his way into making drums for renown artists all over the globe.
The brand that Mike started with his brother nearly 20 years ago has become a brand full of culture and passionate cult-like fans around the globe, all sharing a passion for what Mike created by making people feel part of a family. The grassroots, “do it yourself” approach that Mike started with as a teenager are still strong and will continue to drive SJC's values and mission every day.
Through his talks and workshops, Mike shares his experiences and gives the tools needed to start or grow your brand or brand/business and create engaging brand loyalty.
