🖥️ Job Title: Social Media & Community Manager
📍 Location: In Person / San Antonio, TX Offices
🕰️ Type: Full-time
About SJC Drums
SJC Drums is an independent, artist-driven drum company dedicated to creating custom drums for drummers who want their voice to be heard. Our roots are in punk rock, DIY, and community. Our mission is to build the most loyal and passionate drum family on the planet while continuously furthering our reach to new genres and generations of drummers. We're not just making drums, we’re building a movement, and we’re looking for someone who gets it.
The Role
We're looking a drummer that considers themself very online, for better or worse. A creative, community-conscious person who can talk shop with drummers all day and turn those conversations into shareable content, hype, and lasting loyalty.
Your mission: be the voice, eyes and ears of SJC online in order to build our community, amplify our artists and customers, and make sure our channels feel more like a group chat than a corporate feed.
What You'll Do
Prioritize Community
- Engage daily with our community via Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Discord, and more
- Jump into the comment sections and DMs like you're talking to your bandmates
- Spot and shout out rad players before they blow up
- Keep your finger on the pulse of the drummerverse and reflect that in our content
Develop Content & Voice
- Speak fluent internet - memes, trends, inside jokes, and drummer lingo included
- Work with our marketing and artist teams to ideate content with a voice the SJC Family recognizes and intrigues newcomers
- Spotlight new products, artists, and events
Grow The Family
- Come up with creative ways to make our followers feel seen, heard, and hyped
- Help brainstorm and run contests, giveaways, livestreams, Q&As, etc.
- Help manage our Discord and community platforms, and grow them with intention
About You
- You’re a drummer. Whether you play local gigs, teach lessons, or just jam in your basement, you get the culture
- You’re naturally online. You understand what makes content go viral, when to use emojis, and why drummers are always arguing in the comments
- You can write in an authentic voice, not a press release, casual, funny, sharp, and always on-brand
- You're genuinely passionate about connecting with people and making them feel part of something bigger
- You know your way around platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Discord — and you’re excited to try new ones too
- Bonus if you’ve worked in a music brand, community role, or content creation position before
- Extra Bonus if you can do any content / video creation or editing
Why Join SJC?
- Be part of a brand that truly values individuality, creativity, and community
- Help shape the future of a company where your voice matters
- Work alongside a passionate, tight-knit team who love what they do
- Make a resonant impact in the drum world
To Apply
Send us a resumé, and something that shows off your personality — could be your socials, a meme you made, or a quick note telling us your favorite snare tone.
Let’s build something rad together 🥁🔥
